There are really only two seasons in Fiji: summer and ‘winter’. Summer runs from around November to April and is also when Fiji experiences its wet season. Winter (which is so warm, it’s hardly winter at all) stretches from May to October, with temperatures averaging around 23 degrees Celsius.
In Fiji the currency used is the Fijian Dollar (FJD). Similar to Australian dollars, the dollar is broken down into 100 cents, with notes and coins coming in the same denominations as Australian currency. Bula is a greeting you’ll hear often, literally meaning ‘life’ and most commonly used instead of ‘hello’.
